    Description

    For sale is an ethnographic standing Maori Tribe Tiki wood figure with a Hei motif on his torso originating from New Zealand.
    This solid piece depicts an important figure whose face exhibits  Moko, deep chiselling curvilinear full-face tattoo designs which are only performed on men (women have tattoos on their chins).  The faces of the Tiki and Hei are adorned with shell for eyes.
    This Tiki is signed "Jony Kapuq NZ 1974".
    Measurements are 18" H X 3" D X 3 1/2" W:  The head is large accounting for 7 1/2".   This carving is in excellent condition.
